In the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2022 Tuesday totally belonged to Rahkeem Cornwall. He stole the show when it mattered most, leading Barbados Royals to a big win against the Guyana Amazon Warriors as they made it to the final of the tournament.

Rahkeem Cornwall first played a quick innings of 91 runs in 54 balls with 11 maximums and 2 fours and then took some wickets along with the ball. As soon as he reached the crease, it seemed that no one was stopping him. He started the attack on Guyana’s bowling with the word Go.

It was necessary to bat first for Barbados to get off to a good start and Rahkim raised his hand and did the job. Later in the innings, Azam Khan also played very well. The wicket-keeper batsman scored 52 runs off 35 balls, taking Barbados’ total to 195 runs on the board.

In response, none of Guyana’s batsmen actually hit the crease, thanks to some top-class bowling from Barbados. First Ramon Simmonds and then Mujeeb ur Rahman, Rahkim Cornwall also joined the party. Ramon took three while Mujeeb and Rahkim took two wickets each.

Guyana were all out for 108, giving Barbados a massive 87-run victory. The Shimron Hetmyer-led side, however, will get another chance to make the final as they take on Jamaica Tallawahs in Qualifier 2 on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Jamaica Tallawahs beat St Lucia Kings by 33 runs in the Eliminator. Mohammad Nabi was the hero of the match for Jamaica with an unbeaten 31 off 15 balls and a brilliant 4-0-1-3 spell.

Now the final will be played between Jamaica Tallawahs and Barbados Royals on October 1 at 4.30 pm. Both the teams will firmly stake claim to win the final. Another one is Mohammad Amir who has bowled well throughout the season and Shamrah Brooks who scored a century in the deciding match to guide Jamaica Tallawahs into the final.
