If it rains at the MCG, the 2022 finalists could be crowned joint world champions, as expected at the MCG over the weekend and last until Monday. There is a 95% chance of rain in Melbourne on Sunday, predicted by the Bureau of Meteorology to fall to 25 mm, and possibly a severe thunderstorm.
Play will start at 7 pm AEDT (8 am IST) but with washouts possible, the match could extend to a reserve day on Monday when play starts at 3 pm local time. Unfortunately for the tournament organisers, the ICC, the forecast is marginally better with only slightly less rain expected, but still with the possibility of another thunderstorm.

If rain prevents any chances of playing, England and rising Pakistan will face the bizarre situation of being forced to share the trophy which will be a disappointing and disappointing conclusion for the tournament.
To constitute a match, a minimum of 10 overs per team is required, unlike the group stage when only five overs per side were needed to complete a game. If play for the T20 World Cup title starts on Sunday and is stopped later, play will resume on Monday from where it left off.
