Ramiz Raja Speaks Out Against PCB Management

Pakistan has won the first ODI against New Zealand and they continue to show their dominance in white ball format. Captain Babar Azam was under harsh criticism from media for not coming up as better team in red ball cricket. Ramiz Raja, former PCB chief, has come forward to show his support for Babar Azam despite the continual criticism of the batter.

By no means Babar is in bad form in ODIs. In last 11 ODIs he has played, he scored 4 centuries and 5 half centuries which is a phenomenal record but the concerns are about captaincy. The new PCB chief and selectors are looking ahead to build three different teams for each format. In such a case, Babar will be losing the captaincy of test and T20 side. He will be only left to focus on ODI side where he seems fit, according to PCB management.

Ramiz Raja has hinted that there is conspiracy wired by the management to keep Babar under pressure which can affect his batting prowess. In his latest YouTube blog Raza, how Babar and other key players are pressurized to take away the responsibility of captaincy from them.

Here’s The Comments From Ramiz Speaks:

“Mohammad Rizwan and Babar Azam were under a lot of pressure. Pressure was created on Babar’s captaincy for no reason, unfortunately. This is how teams’ atmospheres are spoiled. He is being asked tough questions and being put into pointless controversies,” Ramiz Raja said.

“This team has done well recently (in white-ball cricket) as they have avoided controversy and been consistent with their combination. He played a very good knock under pressure. Rizwan was under a lot of pressure, too. His runs were really important.”

“I don’t understand why he was removed from vice-captaincy. How will this benefit anyone? We know he gives his best for the team. There is no bigger fighter for Pakistan. Use his energy and commitment.”

“Such an experi- ment shouldn’t happen, especially in white-ball cricket. He’s been a regular vice-captain and has a great comfort level with Babar. For no reason, that comfort level was removed. I think it’s a really bad decision that puts the team under pressure.”

According to media reports, the transition of captaincy will happen soon. Mohammad Sarfaraz will be handed the test cricket captaincy because of his experience. Shan Masood will get to try his hands on ODI captaincy while Babar Azam will be left to focus on T20 cricket.
