Manchester United found themselves without Ronaldo and urged Paul Pogba to play in front.

What did rangnick say?

The temporary manager explained why he chose to play the French forward in Man Utd’s draw against Leicester instead of Rashford. The manager had to make a tough call as Ronaldo was ruled out of the clash due to illness while Cavani was injured. Marcus Rashford was the only established forward available for a 1-1 draw at Old Trafford, but he had to do with a bench seat as Paul Pogba got the nod.

Marcus came on as a substitute for McTominay for the last 35 minutes of the match, with the Red Devils Boss admitting he didn’t want to put him in the starting XI due to lack of confidence. Ralf Rangnick said the only striker they had was Rashford. According to Rangnick, they knew Ronaldo was unable to play this morning and decided to start Pogba. In 60 minutes they made the change and had a center forward on the pitch.

It’s no secret that he hasn’t been full of confidence in the last couple of weeks. He looks good in training, but it was a matter between Rashford and Pogba, they went with Pogba. Ralf added that it was a difficult time for him. Ralf had to decide between the two options and he thinks he decided for the one that gave them more stability in midfield, which was true until the goal.

Rangnick talks about Maguire

Maguire retained his place in the United Defense in the wake of a tough week for the center back. The defender was chagrined by England fans when he lined up for the international side midweek and he faced heavy criticism over his performances for Man Utd. But Ralf was pleased with his display against the Foxes and praised the club’s fans for his treatment.

Rangnick said he thinks he played well. Rangnick decided to have him play on the right side of the back after seeing him play for England. For Ralf it was a solid performance from him. The red devil boss added that the reaction of their supporters and they are the best in England. Maguire had a flawless game defensively and offensively. He prefers to play on the left side but Ralf decided he should play on the right after seeing him for England and as a right foot player he makes it easy to play.
