Marcus Rashford and Mason Greenwood inspired Manchester United to a second-half Comeback over Brighton after Danny Welbeck’s first-half goal.
The Red Devils fall behind following former united Welbeck’s opener but they fought hard to seal a 2-1 home victory. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer boys beefed up in the second half to turn around despite a poor start.
Rashford’s 62nd-minute equalizer started the dramatic comeback before Greenwood pulled off a fine header.
Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer substituted Rashford 10 minutes later after the goal. He further explained the immediate change as due to an impact injury.
“Marcus, I think he got caught with a tackle, so he couldn’t carry on,” Solskjaer clarified.
“Very unfortunate situation again with Anthony being out for a few weeks. If we get him back before the end of the season I’ll be surprised,” Solskjaer added.
“He sprained his knee which isn’t nice. We’ve lost a very important player there, that’s football for you,” he continued.
Again, on a third consecutive run, David de Gea stayed on the bench as Solskjaer retained United’s temporary in practice number one goalkeeper Dean Henderson.
De Gea’s number two status could only be sustainable to the end of the season amid transfer rumors. However, Solskjaer admitted that both goalkeepers worth more playing time. He addresses the goalkeeper’s situation as the competition for the goal stopper position tightens.
“With Dean and David’s situation, I know it’s something that will create headlines and [is] fish and chip wrapping paper in a little while. But I’ve got two great goalkeepers and it’s about now finding games both will play,” Solskjaer addressed the situation.
“Obviously not the same game, of course. But both of them deserve to play more than what they do. And it’s a decision I have to make every time,” the Norwegian clarifies.
