Rashford, Weghorst, and Fernandes each scored a goal to help United to a 3-0 victory over Nottingham Forest in the Carabao Cup quarterfinals.

The turnaround that has taken place at Manchester United under Erik ten Hag has been tremendously amazing, and at the core of it has been a fantastic streak in which they have only failed to win two games after taking the lead. In point of fact, they have only been defeated after scoring the first goal once, and that was on Sunday against Arsenal.

They were able to preserve their victory at the City Ground on Wednesday night, which allowed them to get their amazing win streak back on track. They took the lead early on thanks to a goal scored by Marcus Rashford, and despite some close calls, David de Gea was able to keep his team’s scoreless streak intact.

It is significant because it means that the Red Devils have now prevailed in 18 of the 20 games in which they have taken the lead initially.

With an easy victory in the first leg of their Carabao Cup semi-final matchup against Nottingham Forest, Manchester United took a significant step toward advancing to the championship match of the competition.

After only six minutes of play, United got off to a fantastic start as Marcus Rashford scored a wondergoal following an unbelievable run from within his own half of the field. Ever since he got back from the World Cup, Marcus Rashford has been playing at an incredible level. During that span, the only game in which he did not score was the one in which he did not play, propelling United to the top of the Premier League standings, through the fourth round of the FA Cup, and into Wednesday’s semi-final.

With his goal, he brought his total to an incredible 10 goals scored since the competition in Qatar came to an end.

Despite the fact that Forest did create a number of opportunities that showed promise, United were able to extend their lead when Wout Weghorst scored his first goal for the club right before halftime.

Victory was clinched with less than a minute remaining on the clock when Bruno Fernandes scored with a shot from outside the penalty area.

In contrast to Manchester United, who appear to be brimming with self-assurance and are a team on the rise under Ten Hag’s guidance, Nottingham Forest were completely lost against the Red Devils. The diamond structure that Steve Cooper has been working on over the past few weeks was utilized to its maximum potential by United.

The away team was successful in penetrating our defense on multiple occasions, and one could argue that they should have been able to cruise to a much more comfortable victory. De Gea, who was in goal for the Red Devils, didn’t have much to do in spite of the fact that Cooper’s team created a few scoring opportunities.

For this semifinal match, Cooper fielded his best team, with Wayne Hennessey starting between the pipes alone. The manner in which his team was exposed by United may cause the Welshman to be anxious in the midst of their fight against relegation.
