Sergio Ramos warns Barcelona
The Real captain, Sergio Ramos sent a title warning to Barcelona after Los Blancos forced the victory to return to La Liga action on Sunday. The club’s captain was among the scorers, as Madrid beat Eibar 3-1 at Alfredo Di Stefano Stadium to move back to two points Liga leaders Barca, who won 4-0 at Real Mallorca on Saturday. Toni Kroos and Marcelo won either side of Ramos in a sharp first-half presented from the home side. Still, they were less powerful after the break and admitted when Pedro Bigas deflected a shot by Pablo De Blasis past Thibaut Courtois. Ramos left after 61 minutes with what he described as “a little knock” that did not help Madrid’s cause. But the central defender was still delighted with the way they returned to action three months after the Covid-19 pandemic forced the season to be postponed.
Everything returns to its natural place
“I am pleased with the three points and start playing again,” Ramos told La Liga. “We have ten more finals, and we will give him everything we have. “It was a little strange for everyone after a difficult time for everyone. I want to send, like a captain, high spirits to everyone. It was an unusual situation, not being able to leave the house, but we must always derive positive points from bad things. To return football is happiness for the whole country. Everything returns to its natural place. It’s essential for everybody – us as well – to get back out on the field. I think that we have succeeded. We have worked hard over the past few weeks to return and keep in shape. Which we may have lost over the past few months.
We are back and performing in the best possible way. There are many things that we can improve, but physically we were okay.
“The first 45 minutes, we showed good intensity and scored goals to go forward. A little less intense in the second half, but it will be something that we learn from and improve. Overall we were good. We have things to improve and are happy to receive three points. We will now prepare for the next game in a better way.”
