After finalizing its historic agreement with Audi (the white club was linked to the Ingolstadt brand for 19 years), Real Madrid has officially announced the new automotive brand that will sponsor the current European champion: BMW. The agreement will not be limited to sponsorship, but rather the club and the car company will jointly develop several projects for the mobility of the future, sustainability and diversity. The agreement was signed this morning at Ciudad Real Madrid in Valdebebas by the white entity’s president, Florentino Pérez, and the executive president of BMW Group Spain and Portugal, Manuel Terroba. BMW will now be the brand of cars driven by both the players and members of the coaching staff of both the men’s and women’s first soccer squads and those of the basketball team. The Bavarian brand will put at your disposal the five 100% electric models (iX, i4, iX3, i7 or iX1) that it has in its catalog.
Madrid’s alliance with BMW will also contribute to working on specific initiatives that contribute to the sustainable development of the new Bernabéu. And it will create the NEXT Sustainability Trophy, which will award projects on innovation and sustainability of the participants in order to give visibility to all those initiatives that contribute to improving the environment. “Real Madrid represents not only the sports institution of reference worldwide, but also an entity in constant evolution , seeking excellence in its activities through demand, talent, quality and leadership, as well as a firm commitment to sustainability, solidarity, diversity and the winning spirit. That makes it the perfect partner to face present and future challenges”, said Manuel Terroba, president of BMW Group Spain.
