Bordalas knows what will happen at the Bernabeu
Pepe Bordalas began training at the age of 29 and did not make his debut in the First Division until he was 53. The opportunity that Alavés denied him , whom he was promoted to in 2016, was given by Getafe the following year. Three months after they did not renew him in Vitoria, he took the penultimate Segunda azulón team , with six points in seven days, he took them to the playoff, in which they beat Huesca and Tenerife, to promote to First. There he finished eighth twice and fifth once, with participation in the Europa League. In his fifth season things went worse for him, Getafe finished fifteenth and the club and coach decided to part ways.In those four years in the top flight, Getafe only spent one day in relegation (the fourth of the 19-20 campaign). All these precedents are valid to explain why Getafe launched to change their coach seven days from the end and with the team on the wire, a somersault with a net: Bordalás is a coach with immediate effect and knows the house well
Intensity of the game process
In any case, already in the two matches of this second stage the team has had that stamp of intensity and direct football that characterize Bordalás. The average number of fouls per game has gone from 15 to 22; that of cards, from three to more than five, with a possession close to 40% and two more shots than in Quique’s stage, fell after the team only added two points out of fifteen possible in the last five days. “Football is no longer understood without intensity.
