It is said that Havertz is the “dream” choice of coach Carlo Ancelotti and president Florentino Perez to fill the void left by Benzema’s departure.

Los Blancos are working to lure Kai from Chelsea

According to a recent report, Real Madrid is actively working on securing a deal to acquire Kai Havertz from Chelsea as they search for a replacement for their departing striker Karim Benzema. It is said that Havertz is the “dream” choice of coach Carlo Ancelotti and president Florentino Perez to fill the void left by Benzema’s departure. Real Madrid officially announced that Benzema, who has served the club for an impressive 14 years, will be leaving. Speculation suggests that the Frenchman is on the verge of joining Saudi Arabian champions Al-Ittihad on a lucrative two-year contract worth €400m (£346m/$439m). If the deal materializes, Benzema will reunite with former teammate Cristiano Ronaldo in the Middle East. Ronaldo, who currently plays for Al-Nassr, has also been earning a substantial salary but was unable to lead his new team to victory in the Saudi Pro League during the first half of the season.

Real Madrid are also rumoured to have their sights set on Tottenham’s star striker, Harry Kane

Real Madrid had expressed interest in acquiring Havertz before the German midfielder made his move to Chelsea from Bayer Leverkusen in a deal valued at £70 million ($91m), including add-ons in 2020. Reports suggest that Chelsea is open to selling the 23-year-old this summer, but Real Madrid’s pursuit of new talent doesn’t end there. They are also rumoured to have their sights set on Tottenham’s star striker, Harry Kane. Havertz had an impactful season with Chelsea, ending as their joint-top scorer with nine goals. Despite the ongoing uncertainties surrounding his future, Havertz is expected to participate in Germany’s friendly match against Ukraine on June 12. This provides an opportunity for him to showcase his abilities on the field while the negotiations between the clubs progress.

Real Madrid’s pursuit of Havertz and potential interest in Kane underline their ambition to reinforce their attacking prowess and secure top-class talent as they undergo a period of transition. Only time will tell if these high-profile transfers come to fruition and how they will shape the future of Real Madrid’s frontline.
