Real Madrid lead the race for Alaba’s signature

Real Madrid seem to have won the battle for the signature of Bayern Munich defender David Alaba, despite Barcelona’s attempts to land the Austrian. Alaba has made clear his intention to leave Bayern Munich. With his contract expiring in the summer, two Spanish giants have been battling for his highly sought after the signature. The journalists have been closely monitoring Alaba’s situation in recent months after learning that Austrian’s agent Pini Zahavi has offered him to several of Europe’s top clubs. But that Real Madrid now appears to be his most likely destination. Los Blancos has long had a passion for the player, and its demands made the operation possible. With Barcelona, it was the other way around. Zahavi spoke with the Catalans but, upon learning about the deal’s finances, decided against it.

Barcelona are looking for a centre-back but have decided to focus on Manchester City’s Eric Garcia. He also sees his contract expiring in the summer. Real Madrid are also interested in defensive reinforcements. And given the fact that Alaba can play both in the centre of defence and at full-back. The opportunity was too good to turn down. PSG and Manchester United are also fighting for his signature. But the defender has always said that he would like to play in LaLiga, and Real Madrid are ready to make this wish come true.
