Brahim Diaz was interested in staying at the Rossoneri after enjoying a great season at the club in 2020-21
About the Brahim Diaz contract
Milan have confirmed that the young Real Madrid winger has rejoined the club on a two-year loan deal. Brahim Diaz, 21, moved to Madrid in 2019 from Man City, but found first-team opportunities scarce at the Santiago Bernabeu. And following a loan from San Siro last season, the winger will return to Serie A. On Monday, the club posted on their official website that Milan is delighted to announce the signing of Brahim Diaz from Real Madrid CF on a temporary basis for two years. The contract links the footballer with the Rossoneri club until June 30, 2023. Brahim Diaz, having scored 7 goals in 39 appearances with Milan last season, will continue to be a Rossoneri in jersey number 10.
A little about Brahim Diaz
Brahim, who left his native Spain for City at the age of 16, returned home after signing a £ 15.5 million deal with Madrid in June 2019. But Brahim failed to make much of an impression with the Blancos, making just 15 league appearances in the 18 months he spent at the club. A credit move to Milan in early 2020-1 saw Brahim Diaz finally get a chance to shine as he became a key part of a side that finished second behind arch-rivals Inter in Serie A and seal their return to the Champions League after a seven-year absence. Milan will cover the full cost of the youngster’s salary for the next two seasons, but that there is no mandatory purchase option included in the agreement with Madrid. The player’s own desire to stay in San Siro was key in completing the loan, as Madrid still see a lot of potential in Brahim Diaz and are not interested in releasing it on a permanent basis.
