Stefano Pioli reveals that he thought Manchester United would be the perfect opponent for AC Milan. Milan drew 1-1 at Old Trafford.

Pioli hails his side for a job well done away at Old Trafford.  Amad Diallo put United ahead with a fantastic header before Milan clinched an injury-time equalizer. Simon Kjaer grabs a last-minute equalizer from a corner kick to hand Milan an away goal advantage in the first leg.

Pioli has heaped praises to his side. He congratulated his team personality to fight to the last Minute as they were rewarded with an important away goal.

“The team played with personality. We suffered in the difficult moments. We knew they have quality, but this performance must boost our self-confidence,” Pioli said.

He revealed, “When we were drawn with Manchester United, I thought they were the right opponent for us.”

“We are working to improve and try to win again. We want to take Milan where we belong and these are the games where you can improve,” he added.

He further revealed, “We want to go all the way through, and to do so we have to beat these teams. Today’s result is positive, but we have another tough game ahead. The job is not done. They are a great team.

AC Milan face United next Thursday in Europa league 2nd Leg at San Siro as the Italian targets the quarter-finals.

On the same Europa 1st Leg tie, sensational Teenager Amad Diallo’s header against AC Milan has handed him praises.

Bruno Fernandes tweeted: “Frustrating to concede a last-minute goal but there’s still much to play next week. Congrats Amad Diallo on your first goal.”

“We are Manchester, and we will fight for another 90 minutes,” Diallo responded on the Tweet.

Also, Manager Solskjaer had a say on the teenager, “He’s creative, and he plays with freedom.”

“Great pass from Bruno [Fernandes] by the way, that’s what makes the goal. Amad, he has been on the pitch before, but a good goal. He has loads to learn, and he’ll be better having had that [time].”
