Lille midfielder Renato Sanches is set for a new opportunity with the Ligue 1 champions.

A little about the topic

The Portuguese player is close to moving to Paris Saint-Germain. Parisian club PSG is making a move for him, as Georginio Wijnaldum looks to be signing for the Giallorossi on a season-long loan deal. Portuguese footballer Renato Sanches joined Lille in 2019 on a four-year deal for €25m, making him the club’s most expensive signing. Renato Sanches missed the start of the 2021-22 season with an injury but has played regularly since his return. Overall, the Portuguese made 31 appearances in all competitions for the club last season, scoring once and assisting five goals.

There is information that the Portuguese football player Renato Sanches is all set to move to the French capital on a permanent basis and has already agreed on personal terms. Paris Saint-Germain have agreed to pay €15m for the midfielder, who is currently in the final year of his contract.

The defending Ligue 1 champions were pushing for a loan move with a mandatory purchase option next summer, but Lille turned down the offer. Renato Sanches no longer trains with the squad and has limited himself to individual sessions at the gym. This will be Paris Saint-Germain’s fourth signing this summer after Hugo Ekitike, Nordi Mukiele, and Vitinha.

Other clubs that were interested in signing Renato Sanches

Portuguese midfielder Renato Sanches was also looking for Milan in the summer transfer window. The Serie A champions were on pole position to get him, but they turned their attention to Belgian footballer Charles De Ketelaere from Club Brugge. Milan is going to pay €32 million for its services, plus €3 million in surcharges. English Premier League club Arsenal have also been linked with Renato Sanches’ move, but the Portuguese player only wanted a move to Paris.
