They throw themselves into the same work and then one day it comes that a boy from a modest family of Aligarh becomes the star of IPL. Yes, the success of Rinku Singh shows that if your intentions are firm and your spirits are high, then you can tear the chest of the sky.

On the first ball of 19th over, Kolkata might have won the match with Nitish Rana’s six, but Rinku Singh won the hearts of cricket fans. He scored an unbeaten 42 runs in just 23 balls with the help of six fours and a six.

For Rinku Singh, Nitish Rana is the closest in Kolkata’s team and he got the benefit of it a lot in this innings. After the match, Rinku Singh also said, “Brother kept telling me constantly that they will finish the match.”

Sunil Gavaskar on IPL broadcaster Star Sports pointed to his ability to control his shots in pressure moments, while Kolkata captain Shreyas Iyer said of Rinku Singh, “He played brilliantly in moments of pressure. Definitely, he is the star of the future. From the very first match, it didn’t felt like he was a newcomer.”

This is the trust of Rinku Singh which has not come in any way. This has come due to constant struggle and this includes his ability, due to which he has remained with Kolkata Knight Riders since the year 2018. Before this season, he also got a chance in 10 matches but he could not do anything special. Even after this, the Kolkata team bought him in the auction for 55 lakh rupees.

In the post match interview, Rinku Singh said: A lot of players have played Ranji from Aligarh, but I am the first to play the IPL. This is a big league and there is a lot of pressure obviously. I have been waiting for the last five years to get a chance. I worked very hard, came back from injury and did well in the domestic circuit as well. When I was batting, Bhaiyya (Rana) and Baz (McCullum) told me to stay till the end and finish it.

Rinku Singh, one of the five sons of a gas vendor in Aligarh, started playing cricket since his school days, but according to a video on the Kolkata Knight Riders website , “Father didn’t want me to waste time playing the game. So there used to be a lot of beating too.”

His father used to wait with stick in his hand for Rinku to come home but his brothers supported and used to play cricket at every occasion. Also, due to his talent, he received support from other members of society.

There was also a tournament when Rinku Singh got a motorcycle as a reward for his excellent performance. Being a good son, he gifted that motorcycle to his father. At the time, his father also felt that his son’s cricket had brought the motorcycle he could not buy during his years of work to transport gas cylinders to the merchants of Aligarh.

All this had happened but the real miracle was yet to happen. While doing this, the seasons were going on and Rinku was not able to do much in the opportunities that were being available, but it seems that now Rinku Singh is ready to do the same miracle. His dream is to play cricket for India one day, but for this he has to convert the useful innings of IPL and domestic cricket into explosive innings.

Rinku Singh has been participating in first-class cricket for Uttar Pradesh since 2016 and has scored 2307 runs with the help of five centuries and 16 half-centuries.
