A number of England players are said to be upset by what they believe is Rio Ferdinand’s unjust criticism of important players.

The former Manchester United defender works as a pundit for BT Sport and also has a YouTube channel called Vibe with Five, where he expresses his thoughts on current football issues.

However, according to a source, certain Three Lions players believe Ferdinand may go beyond with his opinions on the game at times.

According to the newspaper, they have no problem with Ferdinand’s former club teammates Gary Neville and Roy Keane criticizing poor performances, but believe the 43-year-old can go too far at times.

Ferdinand has slammed Manchester United and England stars Harry Maguire and Marcus Rashford, as well as left-back Luke Shaw, for their performances.

Following United’s humbling defeat to Manchester City, he slammed the club, claiming, “They all just want to be pals!”

‘I feel like they all just want to be pals from the outside looking in,’ Ferdinand remarked on his Vibe with Five YouTube channel.

‘No one likes to make someone’s nose bleed. It’s as though they’re all working in a city office. They’re all being polite, but they haven’t told each other that they don’t like each other.

‘To win, you have to be dragging people around telling them they’re rubbish and that they should fix themselves out.’ You don’t have to be confrontational either… a casual discussion will suffice. Please confirm that they are (doing that).

‘I haven’t received a response.’ Their body language is terrible; they go around depressed, as if the world is against them, and they appear sad.

‘You’re playing for Man United in a derby, do you realize how much those supporters in that stadium would give to be on that pitch, and you’re going around thinking, ‘I could be doing greater things on a Sunday.’

That’s the vibe I get from some of the males. Fred is a convenient scapegoat; the system was clearly not designed for him.’

‘We’ve had too many managers come and go; it isn’t about the manager.’ Accept criticism and strive to improve every day if you aren’t here to play football. Come out of the club if you’re not willing to put in the effort every day.’

The former England centre-back also criticised United’s 1-1 draw at Burnley in February, describing it as a “Jekyll and Hyde display.”

He also apologized to Phil Jones in August after suggesting the centre-back should leave the club on a free transfer after missing 18 months of action.

Ferdinand, who made 455 appearances for Manchester United over his 12-year career, later admitted that a number of players’ agents had asked him to tone down his criticism of their clients’ bad form.

‘The number of phone calls I receive from agents saying, ‘Oh, can you not say this, why are you criticizing such and so,” he remarked.

‘If I was being vindictive and personal, saying hurtful things about these folks, I’d understand it; I’d pick up the phone and apologize.’

‘However, I’m not apologizing for stating facts.’ I’m not apologizing for tactically analyzing how individuals are performing and pointing out areas where you think you may improve.’

It follows Ferdinand’s decision to leave players like John Stones, Jack Grealish, Mason Mount, and Bukayo Saka out of his England starting XI for the 2022 World Cup. According to The Sun, players were also discussing his alleged ties to a football agency that boasts customers such as Michael Keane.
