Team India has taken the lead in the warm-up match against Leicestershire before the only Test match against England. Although it did not start well but on the second day the bowlers made a comeback and India tightened the grip on the hosts after two days.

India 82 runs ahead till stumps on day 2

Under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma, Team India got a 2 run lead in the first innings against Leicestershire. Team India’s bowlers performed brilliantly. Fast bowler Mohammed Shami and spin bowler Ravindra Jadeja were the most successful bowlers. Both the bowlers took 3-3 wickets in their name.

On the other hand, Shardul Thakur and Mohammad Siraj got 2-2 success while Umesh Yadav’s bag remained empty. Team India packed the hosts Leicestershire for 244 in 57 overs on the basis of the performance of their bowlers. India got a two-run lead on the basis of first innings.

Rishabh Pant’s great batting

Rishabh Pant scored the highest 76 runs for hosts Leicestershire. Top scorer Pant played a half-century in just 87 balls with the help of 14 fours and a six. This innings of Pant could be a sign of his return to form.

Pujara’s not open account

Pujara, who came to bat at number three for Leicester, could not even open his account. He was clean bowled by Mohammed Shami, then celebrated by jumping over him.

India 80/1* in the second innings

India got a chance to bat 18 overs in the second innings on the second day of the game. In the second innings, the highest score was in the name of Shubman Gill, who became the victim of Navdeep Saini after scoring 38 runs in 34 balls.

At stumps, Srikar Bharat was present at the crease for 31 runs and Hanuma Vihari 9 runs and the Indian team made 80/1 in the second innings to take an 82-run lead.
