Rishabh Pant vs MS Dhoni: Who is Better in IPL? Check what stats and personal milestone says, who holds the upper hand

After becoming the assistant coach of Delhi Capitals, former Australian all-rounder Shane Watson has spoken openly on the comparison of Dhoni and Pant.

Watson has said that Dhoni and Pant are different players, the style of playing of both is quite different.

However, both remain very calm and restrained on the field. He praised Rishabh and said that he will keep on getting better with time.

Rishabh, 24, is the captain of the Delhi team and after Rohit, the command of the Indian team can also be handed over to him. He has cemented his place in the Indian team in all three formats.

Pant, who played his first match for the Indian team in the year 2017, has improved himself a lot in the last five years both as a wicketkeeper and as a batsman.

Pant, who has made his mark as an explosive batsman, has proved himself in Tests as well and has contributed to Team India’s victories in many historic matches. Now it is believed that Pant can also replace Dhoni in the matter of captaincy.

Pant will get better with time

Shane Watson said that Pant has improved over time and will emerge as a better player in the times to come. He can now work on himself as a captain.

In the IPL, he has the support of two World Cup-winning captains. Delhi head coach Ricky Ponting has won the ODI World Cup twice for Australia.

Under Pant’s captaincy, Delhi’s team will start their campaign against Mumbai on March 27 at the Brabon Stadium.

In 2021 too, Pant was the captain of the team and Delhi’s team was at first place in the points table after the league stage.

However, after losing both the matches of the playoff, this team could not play the final. At the same time, in 2020, this team reached the final under the captaincy of Shreyas Iyer but had to face defeat in the final.

Dhoni and Pant are different players
Watson said, “The media and the general public keep comparing players. But every player has his ability. We can compare Dhoni and Pant.

But both are very different players and human beings. Both have amazing skills. There is potential. Pant is calm and restrained as a captain.

He is on par with Dhoni in this respect.” At the same time, Watson said that everyone should not compare the two players according to their own.

He said, “Ultimately what Rishabh can do is to improve himself. People and media will keep comparing him with Dhoni. But, for Rishabh and Dhoni, all that matters is that he sees himself as a better captain. Make more players.”

Pant did wonders at the age of 24

While praising Pant, Sen Watson said that Pant’s achievements so far have been spectacular. What he has achieved at the age of 24 is unbelievable.

Apart from captaincy, Pant has achieved a lot as a cricketer. Looks like he has been playing cricket for a long time. In the coming time, they can improve themselves with experience.
