Recently, the Rajasthan Royals shared a video of their passionate batsman, Riyan Parag, where he is seen speaking against the trolls and all critics. The 21-year-old has struggled in the IPL, but he is still a youngster with a lot of potential and talent in him. Apart from his game, Parag also never backs down to take a stand for himself against the perpetual criticism he receives from social media and cricket fans.

Parag’s reply to critics

The video Rajasthan Royals shared had the caption “Trolled and tested, but tough as ever”. This is Riyan Parag: Raw and original’. The video began with Cricket analyst Joy Bhattacharya criticizing Parag and stating that Rajasthan Royals played with five bowlers, five batsmen, and ‘Parag’. After this, Parag is seen speaking about his views on the criticism.
He stated that “people spend their hard-earned money and come to watch us play and perform, when we don’t perform, they hate, and I understand this, but the former cricketers and commentators should text me personally about the performance instead of lashing out on social media.  They post stuff about me on social media and take out time to tweet , instead of this, you can just text me. I would truly love that, because if someone could just DM me and say, “I know how you play cricket, but if you do this, you would have a better chance of performing.

Since the start of his IPL career in 2019, Parag didn’t have the best start, but he has shown glimpses of his talent. This is the reason RR has faith in him, but this hasn’t been the case for the all-rounder from Assam on social media platforms because his outspoken nature has made him an easy target for the trolls. The youngster spoke candidly about his struggle in this IPL season and being dropped after only playing seven games this year. He stated that the two games he was looking forward to were against the Mumbai Indians and the Royal Challengers Bangalore, but he didn’t get to play both.

Parag was fully prepared and was practicing hard for the game, but he wasn’t included in the team, which disappointed him. The all-rounder admires Virat a lot, and sharing a field with him means a lot to him. He holds the record for the youngest player to score 50 in the IPL. The youngster was a part of India’s under-19 World Cup winning squad in 2018, and currently his goal is to get into the India A team, but he knows that he has to work hard to make an impact in the cricket world.
