West Indies Bowlers Shine as Pakistan Struggles in Second Test Match
During the second session of the latest Test match between West Indies and Pakistan, Gudakesh Motie proved to be a standout performer when he not only scored his maiden Test fifty but also managed to secure two crucial wickets. His exceptional performance helped reduce Pakistan to 51/4 after lunch, but the hosts managed to recover slightly, reaching 70/4 by tea time.
Kemar Roach also played a significant role in West Indies’ dominance, picking up two wickets with the new ball to trouble Pakistan’s top-order batsmen. The duo of Motie and Roach triggered a mini-collapse in Pakistan’s top order, creating pressure early in the game.
Roach’s Impressive Bowling Display
Rouch’s bowling prowess was on full display as he managed to dismiss two key Pakistani batsmen early on in the match. In just his third over, Roach outsmarted Muhammad Hurraira, causing the ball to nip in and hit him below the knee roll in front of the stumps. Despite a review from the opener, the decision stood, and Pakistan suffered an early blow.
Motie also made his presence felt by sending Babar Azam back to the pavilion after just scoring one run. The West Indies’ bowlers made it difficult for the Pakistani batsmen to settle in and build partnerships, resulting in a tense atmosphere on the field.
Pakistan’s Brief Resurgence
Despite early setbacks, Pakistan managed to forge a brief partnership of 26 runs between Kamran Ghulam and Saud Shakeel. However, Motie once again showed his skill by breaking the partnership, sending Ghulam back to the pavilion after he popped a catch to silly mid-off.
As tea approached, Shakeel and Mohammad Rizwan stabilized Pakistan’s innings, ensuring no further hiccups. However, the team still lagged behind West Indies’ first innings score of 163, with Pakistan at 70/4.
Looking Ahead
With the match finely poised, both teams will be eager to make an impact in the remainder of the Test match. West Indies will aim to capitalize on their strong start and put pressure on the Pakistani batsmen, while Pakistan will look to build partnerships and close the gap on the opposition’s score.

West Indies Bowlers Maintain Pressure on Pakistan
Following their impressive performance in the second session of the Test match, West Indies’ bowlers continued to apply pressure on the Pakistani batsmen in the subsequent overs. The duo of Motie and Roach kept a tight line and length, making it difficult for the opposition to score freely.
Motie, in particular, showcased his ability to vary his pace and spin the ball effectively, causing trouble for the Pakistani batsmen. His control and accuracy have been instrumental in keeping the runs in check and picking up crucial wickets when needed.
Roach, on the other hand, has been relentless with his pace and movement off the seam, consistently challenging the batsmen with his probing deliveries. His ability to swing the ball both ways has kept the Pakistani batters on their toes, unable to settle into a rhythm.
Pakistan’s Middle Order Resilience
As the match progressed, Pakistan’s middle-order batsmen showed resilience in the face of West Indies’ bowling onslaught. Players like Shakeel and Rizwan displayed grit and determination to weather the storm and rebuild the innings after the early setbacks.
Shakeel, in particular, played with composure and maturity, holding one end up while rotating the strike to keep the scoreboard ticking. His partnership with Rizwan was crucial in stabilizing Pakistan’s innings and steering them away from further collapse.
Despite the pressure from the West Indies bowlers, Pakistan’s middle order showed character and resolve, refusing to crumble under the intense scrutiny. Their ability to absorb the pressure and counterattack when necessary bodes well for their chances of mounting a comeback in the match.
