In the 22nd match of IPL 2022, Chennai Super Kings defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore by 23 runs. In this match, Chennai batsmen Robin Uthappa and Shivam Dubey took RCB bowlers on remand.

Both of them played helped CSK to post highest total of this season. Towards the end of the innings, they only dealt in sixes as bowlers erred from their lines. Together they hit a total of 17 sixes. Out of this, Uthappa hit nine and Shivam hit massive eight sixes. Uthappa scored 88 off 50 balls and Shivam scored an unbeaten 95 off 46 balls.

In this match, between 11 to 20 overs, Chennai scored 156 runs. This is the third highest run scored in the last 10 overs in IPL history. Royal Challengers Bangalore holds the record for scoring the most runs in the last 10 overs. In 2016, they scored 172 runs between 11 and 20 overs against Gujarat Lions. Punjab Kings is at number two. They scored 162 runs in the last 10 overs against Chennai Super Kings in 2014.

Robin Uthappa and Shivam Dubey shared 165 runs in 74 balls. This is the highest partnership for any wicket this season. Earlier this record was in the name of Faf du Plessis and Virat Kohli of Bangalore. Both of them had a partnership of 118 runs against Punjab. At the same time, for Chennai, this is the second highest partnership for any wicket. Shane Watson and Faf du Plessis hold the record for the biggest partnership. Both of them had a partnership of 181 not out against Punjab in the 2020 IPL.

88 runs is Uthappa’s best score in IPL. Prior to this his best score was 87, which he scored in 2017 against Rising Pune Supergiants while playing for Kolkata Knight Riders. At the same time, 95 not out is Shivam Dubey’s highest score. Earlier, his best score was 57 runs, which he made against Punjab in the same season. Robin Uthappa scored 27th century of IPL career and Dubey made third half century of IPL career.

95* run is also the highest score for Chennai against Bangalore in IPL. Shivam Dube equaled Murali Vijay’s record in this case. Vijay scored 95 runs in the 2011 IPL final. In the power-play match against Bangalore, Chennai scored 35 runs for the loss of one wicket, their joint second lowest score this season. Chennai made the lowest score in this season’s power-play against Punjab. The team then scored 27 runs for the loss of four wickets in the first six overs.
