Eric Bailly of Manchester United has sparked interest from Roma and AC Milan, who are in talks with Tottenham about a transfer for Japhet Tanganga.

After Napoli inquired earlier in the window, Bailly informed United that he wants to fight for his place.

However, United are open to bids as they attempt to balance their summer spending, which includes the £46 million paid to Ajax for defender Lisandro Martinez.

They may still need to spend more this summer, since uncertainty surrounding Cristiano Ronaldo’s future means United may be short on strikers come next season.

Bailly has made 113 appearances for United since signing in 2016, but has struggled to establish himself and has been chastised for his unreliability.

Injuries have hindered him in recent years, and he has failed to make five league appearances in two of his previous three seasons.

Watford have already signed Mario Gaspar on loan from Villarreal, but they also want Manchester United right-back Ethan Laird.
