Former Manchester United captain Roy Keane spoke with delight over Chelsea midfielder Billy Gilmour.

The 18-year-old Gilmour has been named the best player in the last two matches of the Blues – in the English Cup against Liverpool and then in the Premier League with Everton as well. It is worth mentioning that Billy was a key player in both of these tournaments for the first time in his career.

The young Scot won Keane’s heart for the first time with his game against Liverpool.

Roy said he immediately saw a world-class player in Billy

“I think it was impressive that evening. I was sitting at home holding tea, eating chocolate, and watching the match without chewing gum. When the match started, I couldn’t stay on the ground, because such things rarely happen. I wondered who this guy was at all.

When it comes to a midfielder, you have a desire to see a different ballplaying language, football intelligence, and charm. He has it all.

It was one of the most glorious individual appearances I have seen for a very, very long time. Billy introduced himself to us directly as such.

At first, I thought he was some sort of skilled guy. I watched the whole match, and every one of his actions showed the highest level of mastery.” – Keane said to Sky Sports after the confrontation between Chelsea and Everton.

We have already seen Billy Gilmour’s debut in the English Association Cup and Premier League. Chelsea will play their next match against Aston Villa on March 14. Four days later, they will visit Bayern Munich for a rematch of the 1/8 final of the Champions League, and who knows, maybe we’ll see an 18-year-old Scottish debut at Europe’s most prestigious club tournament.
