The Bayern Munich president met with the journalists. He talked about David Alaba, future of Bayern Munich and the debt of Barcelona.

Enormous debt of Barcelona and Rummenigge’s position

General manager of Bayern said that he read about Barca’s huge debt. He noted that as he read the exact number, he choked. According to Rummenigge, it’s really sad that football teams are in such big debts. At the same time, Rummenigge said that Barcelona will not sink due to the debt. He noted that Barcelona as the football club is the big factor for the region like Catalonia. General manager of Bayrn knows that Calatonia is not a small part of Spain, so the team is in safe hands. Yes, there will be a big impact on Barca’s future and probably on the future of European football but overall, the team will survive and will not go bankrupt.

Bayern Munich’s approach to finances

Rummenigge said that Bayern is a perfect financial system. He said that management implemented a solid financial plan. They never take on big debts because in the long-run it can hurt a lot the situation at the club. Keep in mind that Barcelona can’t pay team players for a few months already. For instance, they have 63 million to pay to Lionel Messi. Spanish experts believe that it will be tough for Barca’s management to find 63 million Euros for Messi. Rummenigge said that Bayern keeps two things in mind – sporting and financial success. He admitted that the situation in Spain and Italy is really tough regarding salaries. There are so big salaries and contracts that teams can’t pay during the economic recession. Rummenigge said that Bayern Munich was the only giant team that met financial recession with positive notes. Currently, Bayern Munich can pay the salaries and have less debt than before.
