In a spectacular start to the seventh edition of the Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL), Lyca Kovai Kings emerged victorious with a resounding 70-run win over iDream Tiruppur Tamizhans in a high scoring encounter.

The highlight of the match was the extraordinary batting display by B. Sai Sudharsan, who played a splendid innings of 86 runs off just 45 deliveries, comprising eight boundaries and four sixes. Opting to bat first, Lyca Kovai Kings faced an early setback, losing three wickets within the first three overs, leaving them struggling at 14 for three. However, Sai Sudharsan took charge of the innings and showcased his batting prowess to guide his team to a competitive total of 179 for seven.

In response, Tamizhans’ chase began promisingly with Tushar Raheja (33) and K. Vishal Vaidya scoring quick runs during the Powerplay. However, their momentum was short-lived as Lyca Kovai Kings’ bowlers fought back strongly.

M. Shahrukh Khan dismissed Vaidya, trapping him leg-before, while Mohammed struck twice in the seventh over, removing Vijay Shankar and R. Sai Kishore. The sudden collapse saw Tamizhans’ innings crumble from 42/1 to 47/4. Unable to recover, they were eventually bundled out for 109.
