Everton’s boss weighed in on speculation about Richarlison’s future ahead of his party’s trip to Brighton this weekend.

Today’s situation

Benitez ruled out selling the Brazilian before the end of the summer transfer window, as the Everton forward continues to attract interest from PSG. Richarlison originally joined Everton from Watford for £ 50m back in 2018 and has since established himself as one of the top forwards outside the Premier League’s top six.

The Brazilian has been awarded a contract to remain at Goodison Park until 2024, but there has been speculation that he could relocate to new pastures this summer, and Paris Saint-Germain has reportedly weighed in for his services.

Paris Saint-Germain is currently gearing up for the Mbappe departure, with Real Madrid awaiting a response to its second € 170 million bid for a World Cup winner. Richarlison is believed to be at the top of the French club’s list of goals if the Kyalian heads to Santiago Bernabeu, but time is against them with a transfer window due to close on Tuesday.

Rafa Benitez is adamant that Richarlison will stay put regardless of whether Everton receives any official offers before the deadline, and he has high hopes for the 24-year-old as the current season progresses. Toffees’ boss at a press conference ahead of his party’s trip to Brighton on Saturday afternoon said they were not considering selling it. Richarlison is their player, they are very happy with him, very happy and hopefully he can score a lot of goals for them this year.

Richarlison’s achievements at Everton

Richarlison has appeared in 121 games in all competitions for Everton to date, scoring 43 goals, including one in their 3-1 win over Southampton on the new season’s opening weekend. The Brazilian International also provided 10 assists, taking on an effective partnership with Calvert-Lewin in the final third of the serve.
