Liverpool retained their eight-point lead at the top of the Premier League. The Reds had a crashing win at Anfield which pushed Everton’s manager Marco Silva closer to the sack.

Despite missing the suspended goalkeeper, Allison and injured Fabinho, Klopp still felt able to rest his key attacking duo-Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino from his starting line-up.

With the decision at hand, the club still managed a sensational win.

The club was nowhere near their best. Not that they needed to be. But this was an impressive demonstration of the power assembled by Klopp that has put them in such a commanding position in the title race.

Klopp said, “All the goals were incredible, outstanding. Wonderful goals, sensational passes, super pieces of football. I loved it a lot!”

“We needed fresh legs and I had to show my respect to the boys in the squad. That all. They proved it. It is much more fun making changes. All the boys are ready to deliver performances like this.”

“It was a massive moment in my first season when Divock Origi got injured in the derby. It changed his career a bit.”

Liverpool effectively won the game with four goals in the first half. Sadio Mane created two early strikes for Divock Origi and the recalled Xherdan Shaqiri.

The Reds continue with their relentless march towards the first league title for 30 years. The victory against Everton was a graphic illustration of the strength at Klopp’s disposal.

Sadio Mane

If Origi claimed the starring role, then the best supporting actor must go to Mane.

The world-class Mane tormented Everton all night. However, he only blotted his copybook by missing two chances to make the scoreline even more emphatic.

The relentless number 10 claimed two brilliant assists and struck a phenomenal goal against Everton.

As the only starter from Liverpool’s regular attacking trio, the Senegalese forward emphatically stepped into the spotlight.

It was his slide-rule pass that set up Origi for the first goal. His defense splitting delivery assisted Shaqiri for the second and his unerring finish into the bottom corner notched Liverpool’s fourth of the night.

Mane has now scored 17 goals in his last 17 Premier League starts and Anfield since August 2018. He has netted more home goals in the division than any other player.
