Liverpool sanctioned another lending move for Sepp van den Berg when the teen defender returned to Preston, but no decisions have yet been made on Rhys Williams, Ben Davies and Nat Phillips.

Sepp needs regular play time

The Reds will allow the up-and-coming Dutch center to host the 2021-22 campaign at Deepdale after seeing 16 appearances for Preston last season. Sepp van den Berg has only four competitive appearances for his parent club and needs regular playing time to continue his development as he faces stiff competition for spots at Anfield.

Sepp van den Berg fantastic

Sepp van den Berg told Preston’s official website about ensuring the next switch, which he is very pleased with. Sepp said at the end last season that he would love to be back and he was really happy that it worked out. according to Sepp van den Berg he is just looking forward to playing an entire season and playing from the start and hopes to see the fans very soon and of course see the players and staff again. Sepp loved last season so he’s just really excited about the upcoming season.

Head coach Frankie McAvoy said they absolutely love it. they are very grateful to Liverpool for letting him come back here and obviously van den Berg for choosing to come back to them. Sepp loved his time here last season. He is a young boy learning about his trade and for Frankie he is well connected to the group that made him feel welcome and a part of it. According to Frankie McAvoy Sepp came as a right-back. He didn’t get many games playing in this position, but he fitted very well as a right-back and then as a right-back. Frankie thinks he’s fantastic. and thinks he did very well and they will see how he does in the center. What he has to try and do is go again a second time and hopefully produce what Sepp and the coaching staff believe he is capable of.
