Two fierce rivals Lazio and Inter faced each other tonight. After losing two points in a 0-0 draw with Verona, Lazio struggled against Parma last Sunday and finally achieved a 1-0 victory. Noteworthy, that in that match, Lazio was lacking Sergej Milinkovic-Savic in starting XI. The Serbian player returned in the starting line-up against Inter today and did his best to prove how important he is for the team. Lazio’s player to watch was Ciro Immobile, who also  met the expectations of the audience and scored for his team.

 

Inter, on the other hand, won the last clash against Milan. As a result, they gained top position again in the SA standings.

 

The First Half

 

The first half was full of corners and free-kicks, most of which were earned by Inter. But none of them could use their chances.

The half was going to end with a goalless draw when at 44th minute Antonio Candreva connected with a pass around the edge of the box, aimed and shot. But Thomas Strakosha was alert, and the score remained the same.

Ashley Young immediately got to the rebound inside the box and rifled the ball into the left side of the net. Inter won the half 0-1!

 

The Second Half

 

After the break, the match turned its course around. At 50th minute Ciro Immobile scored back into the right side of the net. The score became 1-1. Noteworthy that he is having an excellent SA season.

Lazio’s player to watch Sergej Milinkovic-Savic picked up the ball from a rebound at 69th minute and kicked the ball from the edge of the box into the bottom left corner of the net. Inter’s goalkeeper, Daniele Padelli, could not save the net, and Lazio headed to 2-1.

There were some more attempts made by both sides, but none of them could score again. So, by winning that clash against Inter, Lazio already has 56 points taking the 2nd place in SA standings after Juventus. On the other hand, Inter have gathered 54 league points and are on the 3rd place of standings.
