Spanish footballer Sergio Ramos is not thinking about leaving Paris Saint-Germain despite a painful start to life with the French giants, according to his brother.

Sergio Ramos will play when he can

The Spanish defender has yet to play a single minute for the Ligue 1 leaders since arriving from Real Madrid this summer due to a persistent calf problem. This led to speculations that the lawyer might agree to an early termination of his contract – but these rumors were dismissed.

Sergio played just five matches this calendar year due to fitness problems, but there was still a huge anticipation when he made the move to Paris Saint-Germain after leaving Madrid at the end of his contract.

Sergio Ramos hasn’t been able to adjust, however, having suffered another setback last month after it looked like he was finally ready for his long-awaited debut. This final blow of the injury sparked rumors in the French media that Paris Saint-Germain was ready to agree to an early termination of his contract.

The Spanish defender signed a lucrative two-year deal with the Ligue 1 giants, and despite their substantial financial resources, the club did not seem to want to have such a costly asset sitting on the sidelines. Sergio Ramos’ brother knocked down that speculation, however, insisting the veteran defender will return. According to Rene Ramos, the Spanish footballer has no plans to retire or terminate his contract. There is no doubt about Sergio Ramos. It’s a physical problem, he will play when he can.

Sergio Ramos resume training

An official update from the club echoes Rene’s, with Paris Saint-Germain confirming Sergio Ramos should resume training next week. If he can train without any questions, he could make his debut against Nantes right after the international break on 20 November. Pochettino’s sides have pulled off in his absence, winning 11 of their opening 13 Ligue 1 matches to open a 10-point lead at the top of the table. They also seem poised to qualify for the Champions League knockout stages as they currently sit second behind Man City in Group A, four points from third-placed club Brugge.
