Sergio Ramos, 35, has yet to show up for the Ligue 1 heavyweights after a summer transition from Real Madrid.
Sergio Ramos was excluded from the competition
The Spanish center-half debuted for PSG was pushed back again, and the World Cup-winning defender was still waiting for the green light to join full-time training. There have been speculations that Sergio Ramos might get into a dispute for a home game with the Angers at the Parc des Princes on Friday.
However, Ramos was excluded from this competition, with Paris Saint-Germain not risking the former Real Madrid captain and injury that keeps him on the sidelines.
A statement on the Paris Saint-Germain official website states that Sergio will continue individual training under the supervision of medical staff and perform for another 10 days with the aim of returning to collective training.
Fitness failure has become a common topic
The 35-year-old center-half has been struggling with calf issues ever since it contacted Paris Saint-Germain as a free agent over the summer. Sergio Ramos has served 12 games so far.
The hope that Sergio will soon be ready to bow down, but fitness failures have become a common theme for him. His last season at Santiago Bernabeu was hit by injuries and these issues eventually led to his being expelled from the Spain squad for Euro 2020.
Ramos won’t play a role against Angers
With Sergio not yet joining the rest of the Paris Saint-Germain roster in full training, the 35-year-old center-half won’t play a role against the Angers.
With the 10 days required for Sergio Ramos to enter this group, the veteran defender will also serve his Champions League clash with RB Leipzig along with a Ligue 1 trip to Marseille on 24 October.
If Ramos can start doing business for competitive playing time under Mauricio Pochettino next week, his debut could potentially be made against Lille on October 29th.
