Haaland took to Twitter to send a message in Norwegian

Erling Haaland took to social media after Norway’s impressive 9-0 win in a friendly game with Armenia on Tuesday to post a puzzling message which could have something to do with his future. The Borussia Dortmund striker has attracted interest from several elite European clubs, including Real Madrid, Barcelona and Manchester City. All of them are expected to move for the Norwegian striker in the summer. Haaland is expected to make a decision on whether he will try his luck elsewhere after the end of the 2021/22 season, during which he has managed to net 23 goals in the same number of appearances for Dortmund across all competitions.

The 21-year-old striker netted a brace and produced an assist in Norway’s comfortable victory over Armenia, having already scored three times for his national team in 2022. After the game, Haaland took to Twitter to send a message in Norwegian.

BVB want Haaland to stay with them

“A couple of years ago, I got an advice from a farmer: Talk with your feet and then preferably other things will be good,” wrote Haaland in a post that was translated by his compatriot and former Norway striker Jan Age Fjortoft. “I said ok. And off I went.” Haaland has yet to communicate the final decision regarding his future. Both LaLiga Santander giants are interested in signing him, with Real Madrid willing to create a formidable partnership with Kylian Mbappe up front and Barcelona seeing him as their potential marquee signing in the summer. Back in February, Dortmund’s managing director, Hans-Joachim Watzke, revealed that fans will have news about Haaland’s future in the next couple of months. “Naturally, we would like him to stay with us, but the decision is Erling’s,” Watzke told reporters.

“Things will be resolved probably in four or six weeks. If he stays with us, it would be wonderful. Otherwise, we will look for solutions.”
