Shakib-Al-Hasan is a busy and active player. Whether with the ball or bat, or in the field, he knows how to be involved in the game.

For now, he has picked attention for his gentle gesture during the second ODI match against Afghanistan.

The veteran Bangladesh all-rounder, captured many hearts with his spirit of cricket gesture. The moment took place in the second innings when Afghanistan was in trouble, losing three wickets for only 84 runs

Afghanistan was chasing a total of 307 runs and lost wickets at regular instances. The hosts were in a strong position to win the match throughout the match.

In the 17th over, Rahmat Shah played straight down the ground. However, the ball went directly and hit the stumps at the non-striker’s end.

The ball struck the stumps at the non-end, the striker’s prompting the umpire to refer it to the third umpire.

The ball appeared to have brushed past Shakib’s finger, and non-striker Najibullah Zadran was well out of the crease and out.

Shakib, with a good gesture, chose to withdraw his appeal after telling the umpire that his fingertips did not contact the ball. Fans all across the world applauded the all-generosity of the veteran all-rounder.

The match was pretty much one-sided. Afghanistan was never really settled and gave a bad performance in all three departments.

Chasing a target of 307, they only managed to reach 219 runs. The 88 runs victory has sealed the series win for Bangladesh with one remaining match. Currently, they are 2-0 up.

Also, they have reached the top slot in the 2020-23 ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup Super League.

This was Bangladesh’s tenth win out of fourteen in the ICC Cricket World Cup Super League, bringing their total to 100 points with a net run rate of 0.422.

They passed England, who is presently in second place with 95 points. They were also the first team in the CWCSL to reach 100 points.

The victory will be significant in Bangladesh’s pursuit of automatic qualifying to the 2023 Men’s Cricket World Cup, since the top seven teams (apart from India as hosts) are poised to get a direct qualification.
