India fast bowler Shardul Thakur recently underwent foot surgery, as he shared on social media. Thakur had been playing through the IPL with the help of injections to manage a painful ankle. The surgery took place in London, performed by the same physician who had operated on Mohammed Shami. As a centrally contracted BCCI player, all expenses were covered by the board. While not currently part of the Indian squad, Thakur played for the Chennai Super Kings in the IPL. With the domestic season approaching in three months, Thakur may soon make his return to cricket. This is not Thakur’s first surgery, as he had one in 2019, and his recovery time is expected to be around eight weeks. Stay tuned for updates on Thakur’s progress as he gears up to return to the cricket field.
