Former Flamengo goalkeeper Bruno Fernandes de Souza has been sentenced to 22 years in prison for the murder of his girlfriend, Eliza Samudio. Eliza, who was born in 1985 and grew up in poverty and hardship, was tragically killed by Bruno in 2010 at the age of 25.

Eliza’s early life was marked by abuse and turmoil, as her father would regularly beat her mother. After her mother left her father, Eliza was raised in Foz do Iguacu by her father. However, at the age of 10, she moved to be with her mother, who had remarried and was running a pepper production farm.

Despite her difficult upbringing, Eliza dreamed of becoming a model and making it big in Sao Paulo’s fashion industry. Unfortunately, her aspirations were never realized as her life was cut short by Bruno’s heinous actions.

Bruno, along with several accomplices, was found guilty of Eliza’s murder and sentenced to prison. This tragic story serves as a reminder of the importance of justice and accountability in cases of domestic violence and abuse.
