Edinson Cavani helps Manchester United with his experience. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer spoke about the Uruguayan striker.

The transfer of Edinson Cavani to Manchester United turned out to be justified. The Uruguayan forward helps the club a lot with his experience both on and off the field.

Red Devils head coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer noted that Cavani’s experience helps young attackers in exactly the same way as Teddy Scheringham helped his teammates in the late 1990s.

Teddy joined United in 1997. The current Manchester United manager at the time was a young striker and was seeking a place in Sir Alex Ferguson’s squad. According to the Norwegian, he learned a lot from Sheringham then.

And now Cavani’s arrival has the same impact on Rashford, Greenwood and Martial as Teddy Sheringham did it on young Solskjaer and other attackers then.

“Teddy added to his experience in 1997. I learned a lot from him. I think the addition of Edinson Cavani had a similar effect. We were young strikers who learned from Teddy. And now Marcus, Anthony and Mason are learning from Cavani. Edinson is a great acquisition,” Solskjaer said.

The 33-year-old Uruguayan has made 13 appearances in the current Premier League season, where he has scored 4 goals and provided 2 assists.
