Ole Gunnar says Dean Henderson was given a wake-up call following a promiscuous display of the Man Utd goalie against Burnley.

Dean Henderson was punished

United narrowed the gap on the Premier League leaders Man City to eight points, beating Burnley 3-1 at an Old Trafford on Sunday, thanks to goals from Edinson Cavani and the efforts of Mason Greenwood. However, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side was forced to work hard on three points and almost found themselves a goal down in just 20 seconds, with Chris Wood rising above Dean Henderson’s killing hands to head home only to be rejected by the offside flag. Dean Henderson was eventually penalized for failing to get a corner after 50 minutes as James Tarkowski climbed over the United’s defense to lead in a leveling off after Mason Greenwood’s opening.

When asked to rate England’s performance, Ole Gunnar said that the first is a wake-up call for him, he is a proactive keeper and luckily he was on the sidelines, so another win and Dean Henderson is still learning and maturing. The Norwegian also said that you never know, anything can happen in any box. Every time they get a cross with their quality, you have a heart in your mouth and that they created some pressure, especially from the left, wanted to do the right thing, and they got the goals they wanted.

United found a breakthrough

After a disappointing first 45 minutes of action that saw both teams struggling to create clear odds, United finally found a breakthrough just after the interval. Mason prepared an expert finish after being embraced by Marcus Rashford, only for James Tarkowski to level the proceedings shortly after the restart. The Red Devils shouldn’t have been denied, however, as Mason grabbed his second in the 84th minute with a lucky deflection before Edinson Cavani knocked home third in a stoppage moment after being found with a low cross from Donny van de Beek.
