Juventus Stadium, in Turn Italy, will host the game due to travel restrictions between the UK and Spain.

Solskjaer has confirmed that the two summer signings, Cavani and Van De Beek suffer muscle injuries. Pogba’s thigh injury will keep him out for the rest of February. “He’s recovering well, he’s starting the treatment,” he said.

“It’ll still be a good few weeks, so he won’t be playing in February, that’s for sure. Still a few weeks until we see Paul, definitely,” he added.

Juan Mata who has missed in recent squads  is  involved while Anthony Martial and Scott McTominay have traveled to Italy for the first leg tier, but face fitness tests.

The Red Devils boss also confirmed that teenager Amad Diallo may make his senior United debut. Neither player has yet to make their debut since signing for united.

Meanwhile, Real Sociedad star Portu fires warning to Man Utd and discusses “genius” David Silva

“La Real is a club for the people. We don’t spend huge amounts of money on transfers and for that reason have always produced great young players – I think we have the youngest team in La Liga right now.

“But we also have a number of experienced veterans, and that mix seems to be working.”

On David Silva, who certainly needs no introduction to English supporters, Portu said he learns from the veteran midfielder.

“He’s a spectacular footballer and person. Technically he is one of the best players I have seen and he’s a genius both with the ball at his feet and tactically. In the dressing room when he talks, you listen.

“All you can do is learn from him,” he said.

Adnan Januzaj will be another familiar face likely to be lining up in Thursday Sociedad game, with the former United winger going up against his former club.
