Manchester United young players “learned a valuable lesson” after coming from 2-0 down at Sheffield United to draw 3-3. Says manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

United began the day in 10th position. The club was 10 points below fourth-placed Chelsea having failed to win two league wins in a row this season.

Solskjaer, who took over the team a year ago also faced questions about his future in the build-up after Pochettino was again linked with the Old Trafford.

In the match against Sheffield United, United showcased teamwork and that the last-minute can save a dying donkey.

The club was lackluster for much half of the game until they scored three goals in seven second-half minutes before Oli McBurnie’s late equalizer.

In the opening half, Solskjaer’s side was awful. The club went behind to John Fleck’s opener before Lys Mousset doubled the lead shortly after the break.

Having barely threatened the Blades’ goal, the visitors scored three in quick succession through Brandon Williams, Mason Greenwood and Marcus Rashford to stun the Bramall Lane crowd.

However, Sheffield did not give up the fight.

McBurnie earned the club a deserving point with his late strike.

“The team doesn’t give in. such a difference from last year. It shows the quality that we can score three in a game when we don’t perform.” Said Solskjaer.

The manager, later on, made a comparison between his team that was 2-0 down to Everton in April eventually losing 4-0 and the current side.

He said, “When you are 2-0 down, you fear the worst. But this group won’t and don’t give in. We have made massive strides and would have learned a lot today.”

“Even though the big part of this game is negative and we are disappointed with it, the overriding feeling is appositive because of the character to stick in there and turn it around.”

“Most of these boys have come through the academy. In there, you don’t play in these kinds of games. Despite trying to teach them without fear, they will have learned a lot in this 90-odd minute.”

All in all, United did enough to pull the wool over their own eyes for another week. The club has shown mental strength to come back from 2-0 to get a result unlike last season with the embarrassing 4-0 loss at Everton.
