Spurs players must continue to follow Conte’s methods despite poor recent results, insists South Korean soccer player Son Heung-min.

What did Son Heung-min say?

After a fairly smooth start to the first six months of his reign as Tottenham head coach, Antonio Conte is currently going through his first bumpy patch. The Spurs sit third in the Premier League table, but there have been several subpar performances that have drawn criticism from supporters. Heung-min has complete confidence in his manager.

The Tottenham striker said it was important to listen to Antonio Conte. According to Son Heung-min, they saw last season that no one believed that they would be here now. Last season nobody believed they would be in the Champions League. The gaffer always wants more, more, more, and as Heung-min plays he wants to follow his path, or they know what will happen.

Son Heung-min says that if they don’t follow him then they know they are struggling. According to Son, they have to follow, there is no choice because he is a winner and he thinks that is what they do – donate and do hard things.

There were some signs that Antonio Conte might be starting to feel the heat when he brutally dug out Irish player Matt Doherty earlier in the week before offering a less-than-glowing reference to Djed Spence. Although, Son Heung-min put it down to his manager’s passion and connection to the game.

The captain of the South Korean team said that they are people, they are all emotional. Sometimes after the game they are all happy and sometimes they are all angry or frustrated. According to Son Heung-min, the gaffer is more passionate if they win him as the happiest guy in the world, but if the performance is not good and he is not happy, he is the first one to blame himself and want to improve.

What’s next for Heung-min?

Like everyone who will be involved in the World Cup, the South Korean player has a huge couple of months ahead. A ridiculous amount of games for Tottenham over the next few weeks lead up to a huge World Cup for him and his South Korean teammates.
