Bangladesh cricket team has made history at the Centurion ground, South Africa. Batting first in a decider third ODI of the series, South Africa were shockingly all out for just 154 runs while playing first.

South African tumbled against the Bangladesh fast bowler Taskin Ahmed who bagged five key wickets in the match. Bangladesh never looked in trouble chasing a small target of 155 runs. They made history by winning the ODI series for the first time in South Africa.

Talking about the match, South Africa had a good start but they failed to capitulate it.

Opener Janneman Malan and De Kock added 46 runs for the first wicket. However, after the first wicket, it appeared that the South African team struggled to tackle the good length balls. Bangladeshi bowlers were right on the money and South African batsmen were unprepared for this attack.

In the top order batting line-up, De Kock scored 12, Verreyne 9, Bavuma 2, others just 4 and David Miller scored 16 runs. In the middle order, Pretorius made 20 and Keshav Maharaj scored 28 runs to reach the score to 154.

Such a small score always puts the opposition in the half victory zone. Surely, South Africa could do little but gradually allow Bangladesh to chase down the total. Bangladesh’s first wicket fell on the score of 127, after which captain Tamim Iqbal pushed the team to victory.

Throughout the match, the South African fast bowlers were seen struggling to take wickets. Kagiso Rabada, who was man of the match in the previous match, proved to be expensive in this one. Talking about Bangladesh’s bowling, Shoriful Islam took one for 37, Mehndi Hasan (1 for 27), Shakib Al Hasan (2 for 24) and Taskin Ahmed took five wickets for 35 runs.

Bangladesh won the first ODI by 38 runs. Playing first in this, Bangladesh scored 314 runs thanks to Tamim’s 41, Liton Das’s 50, Shakib’s 77, Yasir Ali’s 50. In response, South Africa’s team was defeated despite Rassie’s 86 and David Miller’s 79. In the second ODI, South African bowlers made a remarkable comeback and bowled Bangladesh out for 194 runs.

Rabada was successful in taking five wickets during this period. The South African batsmen successfully chased down the target and levelled the series 1-1. De Kock scored 62 runs in 41 balls in the second match.
