South Africa vs India: South Africa registered a series win against the formidable Indian team at Cape Town on Saturday. The series ended at 2-1 after Virat Kohli and co. lost the plot of the match in the 3rd and final Test match of the three-match Test series.

The DRS review was overturned against SA

Virat Kohli was obviously disappointed during the 3rd Test and even got into controversy following the DRS outcome earlier on Day 3 of the Test. The DRS review was overturned against South Africa captain Dean Elgar. The Indian team, especially skipper Virat Kohli couldn’t remain calm and went to the stump mic and said: “Focus on your team as well and not just the opposition, trying to catch people all the time.”

On the contrary, Elgar was happy with his side’s win and said he was happy with the DRS ending in South Africa’s favor which subsequently resulted in their victory.

“It was maybe a team under a bit of pressure and things weren’t going their way, which they are quite used to of late [getting things to go their way],” Elgar told ESPNCricinfo.

“That was a bit of Test match cricket pressure which gave us a little bit of a window period to score freer and chip away at the target.

“It played nicely into our hands that for a period of time, they forgot about the game and they were channelling a bit more of the emotional side of what Test cricket has to offer. I am extremely happy it happened that way,” he added.

The Indian team will also play South Africa in the three-match ODI series starting

The incident took place during the 21st over of South Africa’s 2nd innings when Ashwin’s delivery drifted from Elgar’s bat and beat him on the inside edge and seemed to be hitting the stumps for LBW. However, the DRS showed the ball going above the stumps, shocking the entire Indian team.

The broadcaster Supersport also responded to Virat Kohli and stated they had no control over the Decision Review System (DRS).

“SuperSport notes comments made by certain members of the Indian cricket team,” the broadcaster told news agency AFP.

Meanwhile, the Indian team will also play South Africa in the three-match ODI series starting January 19, at Boland Park in Paarl.
