South Africa vs West Indies series has been full of surprises. First, South Africa whitewashed West Indies 2-0 in test series then West Indies made a slight comeback with a comprehensive victory in the second ODI which was practically the first and first match was abandoned due to rain.

In an ODI decider, South Africa came back more powerful and chased down a modest total in untroubled fashion. Now, it’s upto T20 series which starts from 25th March at Centurion.

West Indies have always done well in T20s because it suits their batting mindset which is to attack from get go. However, we have seen that since their exit from T20 World Cup, with entrance of a new coach, things have changed a bit.

South Africa vs West Indies T20I Schedule:

First T20I at Centurion

Second T20I at Centurion

Third T20I at Johannesburg

They are trying to build the innings, especially in the second ODI where the win the match. This series will be interesting for more reasons, Temba Bavuma who failed to lead his side into T20 World Cup semi-finals has been sidelined and Aiden Markram has been handed the precious opportunity to captain the side.

West Indies have a similiar kind of story, it was Nicholas Pooran, under whose captaincy the side failed to reach group stages of the tournament so he stepped down. Rovman Powell will be captaining the new looking West Indies side in 3 match T20 series.

South Africa Without Temba Bavuma

Temba Bavuma is no more part of South African T20 side which was surprising but the after SA20, it was very much evident that there will be new faces in the team drafted from top performers in SA20.

Sisanda Magala has been named in the squad alongside Tristan Stubbs who has immense potential to change the game at biggest stage but nothing substantial from him yet. Bjorn Fortuin could be a big addition to the team, someone like JP Duminy but the former is far behind in development his skill upto that level.

West Indies will have a new team as they are still in a transitional phase. A lot of young players with experienced guys to surround them. Jason Holder hasn’t been impressive in his recent form but because of his experience, he is still in the team.

Odean Smith has been given many chances but he has failed to capitalise them. A player who has the ability to change the course of the game but isn’t a good reader of the situation and often fails to adapt the conditions.
