Tottenham has been warned that the expiration of Antonio Conte’s contract could result in the departure of Harry Kane and Son Heung-Min.
Conte’s contract expires at the end of the current season, and there is no indication that the Italian will extend his stay in north London. Spurs have improved under his leadership, and the club is poised to return to the Champions League for the second year in a row.
Spurs’ most recent games, however, have been disappointing, with defeats to Manchester United and Newcastle. As a result of that poor run, there are now fears that Conte’s management style will have an impact on Spurs following his possible departure in the summer.
Kane’s contract will expire in the summer of 2024, and Son’s contract will be up for renewal the following year. But, with Conte potentially leaving in as little as eight months, former Tottenham manager Tim Sherwood believes neither player will sign a new contract if the Italian leaves.
“They can split up teams, but only the bottom teams. If they want to make the top four, they must win their head-to-head matches. They were outplayed in the North London derby, went to Chelsea, and scored in the 96th minute despite being outplayed “He stated to Sky Sports.
“Another difficult game was against West Ham, which they drew. At Old Trafford, they were defeated. They defeated the teams that you would expect them to defeat. We understand that this is a difficult league, and you must score as many points as possible. But first, they must win the head-to-head battle and remove the shackles.”
“He only has until the end of the season, after all. I mean, he hasn’t signed a new deal. Why would you extend your contract if you are asking Harry Kane and Son to do so? If you believe in this manager, he will be there until the end of the season “You must make a decision about him quickly. There is talk of him returning to Italy. In Italy, he is admired for the way he prefers to play. This year he has to win, if he doesn’t win this year, then he will leave.”
Concerns that Kane might leave Tottenham have been rekindled after Bayern Munich sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic praised the England captain. While he insisted that Bayern are not planning any January moves, it is clear that they admire Kane.
“He is regarded as one of the best players in the world. However, we are not discussing players who are under contract with other clubs. We’ve done a lot this summer, and I believe we’re well prepared for the rest of the season. We will not be active in the transfer market during the winter “He said.
Tottenham will look to rebound from their Champions League defeat at the hands of Sporting Lisbon on Wednesday. Spurs could qualify for the knockout stages if they win and Marseille beat Eintracht Frankfurt.
