In the match played at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai Indians suffered a three-run defeat against Hyderabad in a high scoring match. In the last two overs Mumbai needed just 19 runs to win. However, after hitting 4 massive sixes in the 18th over, Tim David had the unfortunate run out which turned the match. Batting first, Hyderabad team scored 193 runs for the loss of six wickets in 20 overs. Chasing the target, Mumbai’s team could score only 190/7 runs.
Ishan Kishan and Rohit Sharma put together 95 runs for the first wicket. Sharma was caught out in an effort of a big shot after scoring 48 runs. Back and forth, Ishan Kishan was also dismissed after scoring 43 runs in 34 balls.
Mumbai Indians lost key wickets in the middle overs. In the end, Tim David took the responsibility but the team missed the mark by three runs. He played a striking innings of 46 runs in 18 balls. In the 17th over, he hit a hat-trick of sixes in T Natarajan’s over and match looked in Mumbai’s pockets. However, he was run out in the affair of taking a single off the last ball of this over.
Earlier, Rahul Tripathi’s 76 off 44 balls helped Sunrisers Hyderabad to post 193 runs on-board for the loss of six wickets. For the second wicket, Priyam Garg had a good partnership Rahul Tripathi. He scored 42 runs in 26 balls. Together they added 76 runs. At one point it seemed that the Hyderabad team would easily reach 220 runs. Hyderabad completed 150 runs in 15 overs. However, after the fall of back-to-back wickets, Hyderabad somehow managed to reach 193. Ramandeep Singh of Mumbai bagged three wickets.
Earlier, after winning the toss, Rohit Sharma invited Kane Williamson to bat first. There are two changes in the Mumbai team. Mayank Markandeya and Sanjay Yadav have been included in the playing XI. For SRH, Priyam Garg was included in the playing XI in place of Shashank. On the same lines, Faizal Farooqui found his place in the team.
