Following the political crisis in Sri Lanka, the Sri Lanka Cricket Board (SLC) has called a meeting of the Executive Committee on Tuesday. In this meeting, it may be approved to organize the Asia Cup in Dubai instead of Sri Lanka. The decision can be taken today, after this the Sri Lankan Cricket Board has called an emergency meeting of the Executive Council in Colombo regarding the future of the Asia Cup to be held in Colombo from 27 August to 11 September and Australia’s tour of Sri Lanka in June. According to local media reports, a SLC officials said that the board is contemplating to organize the Asia Cup in Dubai under its supervision. It can be approved in the meeting.
However, the President of the Asia Cup, Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) secretary Jay Shah has already said that after the final of the IPL in Ahmedabad, the Asia Cricket Council can take a decision regarding the Asia Cup.
