In this article, we will continue telling a story of a hero guy, Jack Wilshere. So, “It all happened very quickly,” Wilshere said. – I had a conversation with one of the coaches, David Reddington. He worked with Roy Hodgson, who we got on very well with in England and I know David has a similar approach.

Wilshere could please coaches

After an additional conversation with the head coach, I was pleased with their stories about the club. I have always said that in my career I want to try something different. I think now is the right time to get out of your comfort zone and leave England.” Aarhus coach David Nielsen believes that Wilshere’s move will have a positive effect on all Danish football: “It says a lot about the league and all of Denmark, because this country has a good reputation. This is the place where people want to come and live. It’s great that we can be attractive to the big players.”

The sports director at Aarhus is Stig-Inge Bjerneby, the ex-Liverpool defender: “Jack needs no further introduction, and over the past 10 years he has proven himself both at the club level and at the national team level. When the opportunity arose to bring him here to Aarhus, we had no doubt that we would like to take advantage of it. Jack can contribute with great technique and vision of the game, he will give us some additional offensive tools. He is in good physical shape, but he clearly lacks game training. It will come soon and we look forward to seeing him.” Aarhus will play the next match on Friday against Vejle, but Jack’s debut seems to happen a little later.  The most important detail: since 2015, the Danish championship has been played according to a new system invented by Hypercube.

System of Danish league

Now there are 12 teams in the Danish Super League that play in two rounds. Then the table is divided into two sixes (with the preservation of points earned in the first half of the season). In the top six, there is a struggle for European cups (direct tickets receive the three best teams), and in the bottom six – for relegation (the two worst are eliminated directly). In the last match of the season, the fourth team from the top six and the best of the second six play for another place in European competition – so there are no unmotivated teams in the table. Aarhus finished 4th last season, having finished 3rd a year earlier. In the current table, the club is 7th, 4 points behind the top six. There are 4 matches left until the end of the first stage of the championship.  In general, this is one of the oldest sports clubs in the country. The most successful period came in the 1950s: from 1955 to 1957, Aarhus won three championships in a row, and in 1961 reached the quarter-finals of the European Cup. The city of Aarhus is the second largest city in Denmark with a population of 282 thousand people and the second largest port in the country.
