Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos feels not comfortable in Glasgow. Because he was insulted by racists. So he hopes that in summer he’ll play for another club.

The wayward temper of Colombian forward

Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos expects that in the summer. There will be no shortage of offers to leave Ibrox claiming that even Liverpool is watching with interest his movements. Twenty-seven years old Colombian footballer joined the Glasgow giants in 2017 and continued to enjoy two and a half prolific if somewhat stormy seasons in Scotland. Morelos managed with an impressive 76 goals in 128 matches in all competitions. But also for the same period picked up at least seven red cards and repeatedly hit the headlines for his somewhat wayward temper.

His record, when he is not suspended or takes an early bath, nevertheless speaks for itself, and, according to Morelos. Someone must have paid attention to the old stamping pad of the Rangers boss Steven Gerard. “I think they are aware,” Morelos said on Radio Caracol, answering a question about the current owners of the Champions League. “I imagine that is precisely the case with the coach who played for Liverpool for so long. “I believe that he has friends and directors who come to the games. As well as scouts from other teams. This is the motivation to continue to work well.

“My dream is to be a champion”

“There are many interested clubs; let’s wait until the end of the season to see which leagues are asking me, and then I can make a decision. “If God allows me to go to a good club, it will happen.” Despite these allegations, Morelos insisted that his priority was to deliver silverware at Ibrox. “My dream is to be a champion, to be a champion with the Rangers – the only thing I lack to continue to make a big impression with this club,” he added. “Then, if there is an opportunity with a bigger team, it will happen.”

Gerrard loves working with Alfredo

Morelos caused a stir in a recent interview with journalists. In which he claimed to have been the victim of racist abuse on several occasions. Including during the Old Firm derby against Celtic. Rangers’ head coach Gerrard is worried that abuse could drive him out of Scotland and promised to support the Colombian from discrimination. “I hope he will not be driven out because we love working with Alfredo. He is a fantastic player,” admitted former Liverpool idol to journalists. “I know that I will always be biased towards him, but I think that he brings something to this league.

“He makes the league a lot more fun, so I hope not. I know that he has a strong feeling about these issues. “My advice to Alfredo is to continue to be strong – we are here for him if he needs this support – and to continue to do what he does best, who’s scoring goals and makes our supporters happy.”
