Takumi Minamino

Takumi Minamino signed a four-year deal with the Ligue 1 club after seeing opportunities dry up at Anfield.

Transfer details

The Japanese player has completed his €18m transfer from the Reds to Monaco. Minamino becomes the latest player to be eliminated from Liverpool as Klopp continues his summer attacking overhaul at Anfield. The sale of Takumi’s follows the exits of Origi and Mane, with Minamino completing a two-and-a-half year stoppage start on Merseyside, joining the League 1 side.

The Reds will receive a flat fee of €15m with a further €3m in performance-related add-ons. This represents a significant profit on the €8.4m they paid to land him from Red Bull Salzburg in January 2020. The Japanese player made 55 appearances for Liverpool, scoring 14 goals, and signed a four-year contract with Monaco.

What did Takumi Minamino say?

Speaking on the official website of his new club, the Japanese international said it was a great pleasure for him to join AS Monaco. According to Takumi Minamino, he is very happy to be part of this very exciting project, in a club with a great tradition and among the most recognized in Ligue 1. Minamino is looking forward to opening their new environment and doing their best to help the team.

Mitchell, the club’s sporting director, added that they are very excited and excited to welcome Minamino to AS Monaco. Paul Mitchell says that Takumi Minamino is a player they have known for many years, and since his arrival in Europe he has gained experience at the highest level, especially in European competitions, and has won a number of titles.

With his winning culture, his ability to play in a variety of serving positions and his status as a key player with his national team, they are convinced that Minamino will grow their young team and help the group reach their goals. According to Paul, they are glad that Takumi Minamino decided to be part of their project and welcome him.
