TATA IPL 2022: 5 Players remained flop so far in IPL, already stunned everybody last season; Check Names

In this season of IPL 2022, where the new players have performed to the best of their ability. At the same time, some of the top batsmen, who performed well in the last season of the tournament, have struggled to score runs so far.

These players scored massive runs in two halves in the 2021 season. He did not get the start that his teams would have liked to see in the first 13 matches of the 2022 season.

Ruturaj Gaikwad (CSK)

With 635 runs in 16 matches, the Orange Cap holder of IPL 2021 Gaikwad has not been able to score runs in the 2022 season. The right-handed opener from Pune has managed only two runs in the first three matches of Chennai Super Kings, including getting out for zero against Lucknow Super Giants.

Chennai will be hoping that Gaikwad, who entered the tournament after recovering from a wrist injury during the T20I series against Sri Lanka, will convert his poor start into some great performances. As he did in the last two seasons of IPL.

Venkatesh Iyer (KKR)

Venkatesh Iyer, who rose to fame with 370 runs in 10 matches of the second half of IPL 2021, has not got a good start in IPL 2022 so far.

Iyer entered the tournament for Kolkata Knight Riders after impressive performances with the bat and ball in the T20I series against West Indies and Sri Lanka.

But, Iyer has so far opened at the top in the IPL, scoring 16, 10 and 3 runs while he bowled once against Bangalore.

Yashasvi Jaiswal (RR)

Youngster in a formidable campaign for Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2021 He scored 249 runs in 10 matches with a high strike rate of 148.21. Rajasthan backed the opener when they retained him ahead of IPL 2022.

But Jaiswal has not been able to show the confidence shown in him with scores of 20, 1 and 4 in the first three matches. Rajasthan will need runs from him to complement top-of-form Jos Buttler.

Prithvi Shaw (DC)

2018 U-19 World Cup winner The captain has been a mainstay in Delhi’s batting line-up for four seasons. He scored 479 runs in 15 matches of IPL 2021.

Delhi has relied on him to give an explosive start in the first six overs. But Shaw has not been able to repeat the good start from the past, playing a pull shot twice and getting dismissed for 38 and 10.

Delhi will hope that David Warner’s possible return in the opening slot will boost Shaw’s scoring abilities.

Nitish Rana (KKR)

The middle-order batsman Kolkata He has been an important player for the IPL, which was seen when he top-scored for them in IPL 2021 with 383 runs in 17 matches.

But Rana has stayed away from his best performance in IPL 2022 by making 21, 10 and 0 in the first three matches. Kolkata will be hoping that Rana will make a splash with the bat for the upcoming matches.
